Today I’m thankful for time spent with my wife.
I don’t know about you, but I think it’s important that all people be intentional about the time they are given in a day. We all have the same amount. 24 hours.
Let’s say the average person sleeps 8 of those. We are down to 16 hours. Then let’s take another 6 – 8 hours for work.
We have on average between 8 to 10 hours for the other things/people in our lives. Yikes!
I have a young family and right now, I recognize how important it is that I give the most valuable thing I have to my family. My Time.
Today, I chose to go out of my way to spend lunch with my wife. Now this isn’t a pat on my back, but a reminder to myself that I love my wife and she’s worth it. She’s more than worth my time.
I could’ve had lunch with fellow staff, I could’ve had lunch by myself and chilled out for a bit, but I wanted to make the most out of the time I have and spend some of it with her.
I’m thankful for that. Not everyone gets to do that and I wish they did. I can’t prove it, but I bet that if all spouses were intentional about the time they have with their significant other, the divorce rate would be at an all time low.
What do you do intentionally with the time you have? Do you spend it with family? A hobby? Or do you need to reconsider what you are doing with it?
