Today I’m thankful for my Beautiful Bride.
It’s Valentine’s Day! A made up holiday that gets you to spend money on useless items or candy to express affection for an individual. I’m pretty sure that’s Webster’s version.
Usually, I fall into the category of spending money on useless items. Fortunately, my wife doesn’t really want anything, code for I still should get something, and we have a newborn. So spending money on anything other than a necessity right now just doesn’t seem right.
I will say this about Valentine’s Day. Honor your spouse. Even if you spend don’t money, you can be creative and show your love. I believe this should be done every day, not just once a year, but if you must for the sake of a holiday, be you.
I can’t speak for everyone, but I would assume for the majority that you married your spouse because of who they are. My wife married me because of how incredibly handsome I am and my infectious ability to make her laugh, but that’s our case. Lol. So of course I’m going to go out of my way to make sure she has those two things everyday.
All kidding aside, at the end of the day you know your spouse better than someone else does. At least you should. If you are doing it right. Love your spouse like only you can. If words of affirmation are their thing, make them feel like they are the most wonderful person in the world. If acts of service are their thing, serve like no one else and think outside the box doing it. If touch is their thing, get your cuddle on. It’s ok, cuddling won’t harm you and you are allowed to.
Whatever you decided to do I hope you did with all of your heart. Right now, in my season of newborn life, anything and everything is help to my bride. Reminding her how amazing she is, letting her know I still think she is beautiful, applauding how great of mom she is and the fact that she is practically wonder woman. If you are a lady and can push a kid out with no pain meds and get it done in less than 4 hours, kudos to you as well. My wife is pretty amazing.
I’m thankful for her. Happy Valentine’s Day everyone.
