Today I am thankful for shoes.
Often in kids church I talk about the things we should be thankful for that we can easily take for granted. Shoes are one of those things.
Think about how many pairs you have right now. If you’re in America you might hagve an average of 3 pairs. One for casual occasions, one for formal occasions and one for play. I have at least 10 pairs and I actually wear them all pretty frequently.
I’m thankful for them for several reasons. One, I realize there are many without shoes in this world and I not only have a pair but several pairs. Two, I am thankful that they do what they are suppose to do, keep my feet safe. Lastly, I’m thankful to have shoes for different things. For example, I wouldn’t wear dress shoes to go running and I wouldn’t wear flip flops to go hiking. Different types of shoes are made for different things and I’m grateful for the ones I have.
What about you? I have a friend who used to have an entire garage of shoes. Of course, he was selling them so that’s a bit different. How many shoes do you own? Do you have a favorite pair? What about the longest pair you’ve owned? I’d love to read your responses.
Being thankful isn’t just about when you receive something from someone, it’s a mindset. The more thankful you are, guaranteed the happier you’ll be.
