Today I am thankful to be heading off for our annual 5th Grade Mission Trip!
Today, 37 people and myself will be heading to Florida to team up with the Dream Center in Lakeland Florida for the next week to serve, evangelize and grow.
We will be serving the community around the Dream Center in tangible ways, like cutting grass, picking up trash, painting, building, providing food or whatever need may arise the week we are there.
We will be evangelizing to the community by teaming with a local church and putting on kids VBS for the local area kids. The best part about that is that it will be the 5th graders who help lead all of it. Crafts, games, objects lessons and skits. They will get opportunities to pray for and with other kids.
This trip is a great experience for a 5th grader and a great way to introduce mission work to an almost middle schooler. This is my 3rd trip and every year is so different and so worth it. God is always at work because there is always a lot of work to be done. This week, He’s using these 5th graders to help accomplish it.
If you’re reading this, would you pray for the 38 people attending this trip. Pray for safety, divine appointments, God’s Spirit to lead us and for lives to impacted for His glory. One of the biggest things we teach these 5th graders this week is that it’s not about us. It’s all about Him and how God can use each of us in any way this week. We are here to serve. Just like Christ did when He set the example of being a servant.
Thank you for your prayers!
