Today I am thankful for Day 2 of the 5th Grade Mission Trip.
What a day it has been! I love working with these kids and leaders. This trip is one of my absolute favorites for so many reasons. The kids are all so amazing and I get the privilege of watching each kid mature and grow in faith this week. So often they come with unknown expectations, but through the devotions, the interactions, the relationships, they start to get it. They begin to understand the reason we come here. By the end of the week, they are often attached to the connections they’ve made and leave saddened.
The sad part is often tough, but we are reminded of the reason we came. To point others to Jesus. To build a relationship between them and their local church. To tell them they are loved, chosen by God and that there is a plan that is wonderful designed just for them. Everyone needs to know they are loved and are special.
I’m excited for what the rest of this week holds and even more excited to see how God will move over the next couple nights during the VBS. Lord, have your way!
